About me

I am currently a Master's student at School of Computing (SOC), National University of Singapore (NUS). I received my BComp in Computer Science (Second Class Upper) from National University of Singapore in July 2004.

I can be contacted via email: at comp dot nus dot edu dot sg with dennyisk before the at.

Research interest

My research interest is mainly in the field of content-based audio processing, particularly music, singing, and speech.

Currently I am working on the problem of synchronization between music signal (which contains singing) and its corresponding lyric text. To do this, I use speech recognition techniques: acoustic modeling of singing voice using hidden Markov models and dynamic programming to find the best global alignment.

Some relevant topics:

  • Score following
  • Audio matching
  • Score-to-audio alignment
  • Robust speech recognition
  • Multi-modal alignment in general

Personal interests

I like drawing very much. You can see my older works from my old website (click the link on the left column), newer works are in my DeviantArt page.
